Fry up some fun at Long Beach Razor Clam Festival
United Way of Clatsop County
is invites community members
to participate in the 2018 Day of
Caring on Saturday, April 21.
The Day of Caring is a coun-
ty-wide opportunity for community
members to give back to their
community by volunteering time
and talent.
For this year’s projects, United
Way of Clatsop County has
partnered with local schools and
parks. Family, friends, co-workers
and civic groups are all invited to
help make a big difference on this
day by lending a hand to the heart
of our community.
Volunteers can choose from
any of the six Day of Caring sites
to volunteer at.
• In Astoria: Tapiola Park and
Evergreen Fields need a hand

There are new bark chips for the
playground, tree wells for more
than 100 trees and painting of the
dugouts and picnic shelters.
• In Seaside: Seaside Heights
Elementary School needs help
with bridge and trail maintenance
to keep outdoor learning oppor-
tunities safe and accessible. The
Seaside Community Gardens need
help prepping for the upcoming
planting season.
• In Warrenton: Trail main-
tenance is needed on the water-
front trail between the Lewis and
Clark Bridge and the Youngs Bay
Bridge.
• Camp Kiwanilong needs help
prepping the grounds for upcom-
ing summer youth programs.
All volunteers are invited to
attend a thank-you BBQ at Camp
Kiwanilong at 3:30 p.m. for com-
munity building, entertainment
and s’mores around the campfire!
