T
he Warrenton Fire Department performed a con-
trolled burn near the high school Wednesday eve-
ning to help get rid of a small, one-story building
that was intended for demolition. The training exercise
involved about a dozen personnel and several vehicles,
including a ladder truck. The building took a little lon-
ger than expected to burn, but Fire Chief Tim Demers
said the operation was successful and went as planned.
The public was allowed to view the event from a safe
distance.
