Caption: Five-year Local Option Tax for General Operations
Question: Shall District impose $.90 per $1,000 of assessed
value for general operations for five years beginning 2018-
2019? This measure may cause property taxes to increase
more than three percent.
Summary: If approved the Lewis & Clark Rural Fire Protection
District will use the proceeds to pay the cost of:
1. Maintaining emergency services at present levels;
2. Pay salary and benefits of administrative and support
personnel; and
3. Provide funding toward replacement of fire equipment and
other tangible property in support of operations
This levy follows two prior five-year levies, but increases the
tax rate by $.15 per $1,000 to adjust for increasing costs of
operation.
It is estimated that this tax will raise $167,073 in 2018-2019;
$172,085 in 2019-2020; $177,247 in 2020-2021; $182,564
in 2021-2022; and $188,040 in 2022-2023, for a total of
$887,009. The estimated tax cost for this measure is an ESTI-
MATE ONLY, based on the best information available from the
County Assessor at the time of the estimate.
