Photos on the beach by Don Frank Photography followed.
“One of the reasons I wanted Don is because his style is
casual and vibrant; he doesn’t do a lot of cliché stuff. Ian hates
having his picture taken—Don’s style is very candid. He’s
local and he knows the beach. He really captured the
personality of our wedding,” said Kristin.
After the ceremony, the whole wedding trekked up from
Avenue U to the Seaside Golf Course. Guests enjoyed a
smoked brisket BBQ dinner from Seaside Brewing Company
and Seaside Golf Course provided picnic sides like potato
salad.
As the evening approached, “The Mutineers”—a husband
and wife folk rock duo from Portland provided music—the
same group that Kristin and Ian used to listen to on Sunday
nights at the Seaside Brewing Company when they were still
single and getting to know each other. “We circled around
each other for about six months before hanging out,” laughed
Kristin. He asked me out to music one night and I said “I’ll
meet you there.” But Ian countered, “I was hoping I could
pick you up.” That’s when Kristin thought “oh it’s a date.”
Ian recalls the evolution of their romance. “What drew me
to Kristin was really how organically our relationship started.
We went on a casual date and two weeks later I realized that
we had spent every day together since. It was really easy,” he
said. Although community is a big part of the new couple’s
life, they’re also looking forward to a travel—just the two of
them—a passion they share. “We both love to travel and she’s
my partner in crime,” he said.
“Ian grew up
here and I’m
active in the
community so
between the two
of us it feels like
we know
everyone in
town.”
