words.” The two were an item for the next three years. It
was on a trip to Disneyland that Tom elected to “pop the
question.”
The meet up
The parents of one of Stephanie’s good friends offered
up their gorgeous wooded acreage for her wedding. So,
milled logs turned into benches, were on hand for guests,
and there was plenty of parking. Friends and family could
actually camp if they chose. Plus, in keeping with the
woodsy, natural theme, Stephanie’s father created an arbor

Do it yourself wedding
Once the news was out about Tom and Stephanie’s
engagement, a flurry of wedding plans and preparations
ensued. A veritable army of family and friends closest to the
couple stepped up to help with the big day. “This was a
Pinterest kind of wedding,” says Stephanie. A website with
do-it-yourself ideas, Pinterest can be a cost-saver if you’re
crafty. “But things never turn out to be that easy to make,”
laughs the new bride. She gratefully credits her mother with
being a huge help, adding, “I’m a procrastinator but mom’s
an organizer and she saved the day more than once.”
Family members made the wedding cake and
boutonnieres. Flowers were ordered wholesale, and the
bouquets for the bride and her attendants were fashioned by
