Clatsop Community College President Chris Breitmeyer accepted a $2,000 check from Lauren Walton, president of
the Chief Petty Officer Association, Lower Columbia River. This is the second scholarship from the CPOA, and will
be awarded this spring for the fall 2018 semester. “Our goal last year was to double the amount of the scholarship,

In early November, the Assistance League of the
Columbia Pacific held its annual Nike Night, which
clothed 106 young men from local high and middle
schools. Pictured, ALCP member and seamstress
Velma Kee came to the event prepared with her own
sewing machine, ready to measure, cut and sew for
a perfect fit.
