PROGRAM OVERVIEW
Ocean Beach School District strongly supports the arts. All students, kindergarten to eighth grade, have
music or visual arts classes every day. High School students have the opportunity to take Jazz Band, Concert
Band and Choir as curricular classes. Along with the courses, Ilwaco offers Drama, Marching Band, and Pep
Band.
The music program has grown exponentially over the years with the support of the school district and
organizations like the Water Music Society. Every student is supplied with an instrument if needed and supplies
to perform (reeds, sticks, concert attire). This program would not be as successful without volunteers of
parents, community members and staff. The financial help of the Ilwaco Music Booster Association, Ocean
Beach Education Foundation, Templin Foundation, Music Matters, and Water Music Society makes the musical
dreams of the students come true.

attainable by all. Each year the
students have the opportunity to
see world renowned musicians,
visit college campuses, participate
in adjudicated competitions, and
travel to premiere performance
venues.
