Bell ringers needed for
Salvation Army fundraiser
The Daily Astorian
WARRENTON — Today
is the start of the Lower
Columbia Power Squad-
ron bell ringing for the Sal-
vation Army at Fred Meyer
in Warrenton, for the 2017
Christmas Season. This is the
14th year that the local boat-
ing organization has been
involved in this project. Over
the years, the donations have
increased from $5,000 to
$12,000 in 2015, and $16,000
in 2016.
All bell ringers are volun-
teers, and more volunteers are
needed. Bell ringing hours
are from noon to 5 p.m. every
day that volunteers are avail-
able; shifts are usually only
two hours. All donations col-
lected are banked locally, and
only used in Clatsop County.
To volunteer, call Ronald
Collman at 503-861-1368 or
503-440-1097.

Bend, Washington.
Rev. Dan Dunn, a close
family friend, performed
the ceremony. The bride

Lyons of Harwood, Mary-
land, and Jaysea Williams,
Elizabeth Roe, Morgan Pos-
tlewait and Victoria Kee, all
of Astoria.
Best Man was Nich-
olas Ketcham of Asto-
ria. Groomsman was Tyler
Johnston of Warrenton, the

American Association of University Women
The American Association of University Women of Astoria’s annual Readers’ Dessert Theatre Scholarship Benefit, a
production of “The Porch,” by Jack Neary, generated over $3,000. AAUW’s sponsors covered the costs of production,
so all of the money from the approximately 200 tickets sold is available for scholarships.

The groom graduated
from Astoria High School
in 2015. He also received
an associate’s degree from
CCC in 2017, and is pursu-

pher was the bride’s great-
aunt, Kay Schacher, the wed-
ding planner was the bride’s
aunt, Shana Schacher, and
the video was done by the
maid of honor’s brother,
Ethan Sparks. The DJ was
