Mission Statement:
The Columbia River Symphony’s
(established in 2007) primary purpose is
to provide a structure for musicians of all ages
and abilities to rehearse and perform quality
concerts for enjoyment of the public, to
increase visibility of the musical talents of its
performers, and to promote musical education
and cultural enrichment for its members and
communities in the region.
PROGRAM OVERVIEW:
The Columbia River Symphony (CRS) is 501c3 non-profit organization that was built from the ground up ten years ago. CRS provides
musicians a safe and rewarding place to learn and enjoy the performance aspect of playing music in a symphonic setting. With a heavy
emphasis on providing support for the youth within the community, CRS is open to everyone, intermediate to advanced musicians of ALL
ages. Middle school to high school students, retired, and non-retired musicians, young and old sit side-by-side each week (every Saturday
morning), and learn from one another through full rehearsal sessions, sectionals, and small group instruction. Musicians travel from Long
Beach, Washington, to Pacific City, Oregon, and as far east as Portland, Oregon to take part in this ever growing, and very supportive arts
organization.
Vision:
COMMUNITY MINDED:
Core Values:
CRS promotes music education and cultural enrichment not only to its Members, but to the communities in the region as well. Our
concerts are always family-friendly, and most important of all, they are FREE. CRS believes in promoting the musical arts to all, so that
everyone can enjoy quality concerts, and support the talents of the performers within our beautiful communities.
MAKING MUSIC ACCESSIBLE ACROSS THE GENERATIONS:
Continuing community and generational concert theme ideas include:
Symphonic Stories: Each concert is musically performed along-side touching and heart-warming stories.
Community Summer Pops Concerts: Each Summer CRS, Astoria Regatta, and Vancouver, Washington's Beacock Summer (New Horizons
Band -- 65 or older), combine with CRS (100+ musicians) for a multigenerational grand concert.
Holiday Concert Celebration: December 9th -- Liberty Theater @ 7pm, Warrenton Middle/High School combine with CRS for a free
concert to celebrate the holiday season for the community.
