PROGRAM OVERVIEW
The Gift of Education Changes Lives and Destinies
The mission statement for Clatsop Community College reads: Enriching Lives, Inspiring Learning, Creating Opportunities. The
work of the CCC Foundation is to support CCC’s mission and focus fundraising efforts to increase the availability of scholarships
and provide much-needed program support and equipment.
Many of our students face multiple obstacles and financial barriers in the path to their educational goals. CCC Foundation
scholarships provide critical assistance to those who might not be able to achieve those goals without this vital help. Financial
assistance through scholarships can be their only opportunity to reach their full potential and shape their futures.
Without a doubt, CCC changes lives on a daily basis. Here is an example of the impact scholarship gifts can make on a
student’s life:
“I decided to go back to school at the age of 30. First, I received my GED and this past June I graduated with my RN. My
journey is thanks to Clatsop Community College and would have been almost impossible if I had not won a scholarship. That
scholarship changed my life. Being a single mom with no education is hard enough but being a single mom trying to work a part-
time minimum wage job while attending college is much more difficult. I was set up for failure in the beginning but I overcame
and I am excited about my future. I plan to earn my Bachelor’s in nursing at OHSU and then my Master’s in Public Health. I want
to make a difference and give back to all the people and programs who helped me along my path.” — CCC student, class of 2017

501 (c) (3) non-profit organization. It is
governed by a dedicated volunteer board
of directors.

them and our community.
EVERY GIFT MAKES A DIFFERENCE
Give the gift of education to CCC students by establishing a
scholarship, donating to a program, and/or providing a lasting
legacy in your estate plan.

GIFT DESIGNATION EXAMPLES:

• Fund For Excellence (college’s greatest need)
• Foundation General Scholarship
• Specific Scholarship College or Program
• $109 covers the cost one of credit hour for a full-time student
• $500 covers the cost of books and supplies for one term
• $1,338 provides one term of tuition and fees for a full-time CCC student

annual Arts and Experiences Auction and Dinner, a fundraiser for
scholarships, programs and special projects.
