183 N. HEMLOCK STREET | CANNON BEACH
WWW.IMPRINTGALLERY.COM
The newest of Cannon Beach’s galleries, Imprint Gallery is quickly establishing itself as a
‘must-see’ collection of art. The gallery represents both Northwest and National artists, with a
tendency to select artists who explore narrative in a quirky or eccentric way. Artwork skips
between genres, which include the surreal, magic realism and contemporary folk art. In
addition there is a strong representation of artist printmaking and ceramics, and the gallery has
a working printmaking studio. Exhibiting artists include Alfredo Arreguin, Aggie Zed, Randy
Van Dyck, Maggie Taylor, Morgan Brig, Heidi Preuss Grew and Diana Farfan.
For the Stormy Weather Arts Festival, alongside exhibiting fine artists, the gallery will be
hosting a focus on functional ceramics. The objects with which we interact can have a
profound effect on our spirits and the way we view the world. Integrating art into our daily
activities enhances how we experience them, from the pictures that adorn our homes to the
cup that holds our morning coffee.
As part of the event, Sharon Greenwood will be demonstrating her decorative ceramic
carving techniques in the gallery on Saturday, November 4, 11am – 4pm, and on Sunday,
November 5, 10am -2pm. The gallery will be having its Stormy Weather Festival Reception on
Saturday, November 4, 6pm – 8pm, serving light refreshments. Other exhibiting potters include
Gail Heyman, Lynne Hobaica, Jordan Jones, Karen Mahoney, Eric Haagensen, Luba Sharapan,
Jennifer Gauer and Meghan Radick, Shiloh Gastello, Scot Cameron-Bell and Amanda Barr.
Imprint Gallery’s Fall Printmaking Program is also in full swing in the studio. During the
Stormy Weather Festival weekend, Stirling Gorsuch will be leading a two-day workshop
exploring monotype and chine colle techniques. The class begins on Friday, November 3, and
is limited to 6 participants. For further details and to book go to the gallery’s website at
www.imprintgallery.com, call 503 436 4466, or pop into the gallery. Other November classes
include a two-day multiplate drypoint workshop beginning November 10, and linocut holiday
cards workshops on November 17 & 18.
