The Cannon Beach Academy,
3781 S. Hemlock St., hosts
an open house and potluck
at 5:30 p.m. Thursday. The
event is an opportunity for
community members to visit
the school and meet the staff.
The academy is a tui-
tion-free, public charter
school that opens this fall
with grades kindergarten to
second grade. One grade is
being added each year until it
reaches fifth grade. There are
no more than 22 students per
class.

Grace Episcopal

This Sunday is Hunger Awareness Sunday, with an ingath-

istries at the church. Both monetary and nonperishable food

Following the 10:00 service, there is a reception for the
new artwork hanging in the Parish Hall. This show runs
through Sept. 17, and features art by Jo Pomeroy, Jeannette

Judi McElroy.
The monthly Community Dinner is served in the Parish
Hall at 4 p.m. Sunday, free of charge. Those willing to help
