All weekend long, the Astoria Yacht Club will hold its annual Regatta Sailboat
Races. Saturday, win permitting, you can view the races east of the Astoria Bridge
toward the Columbia River Maritime Museum. Sunday’s races will be held to the
west of the bridge. Please contact the Astoria Yacht Club for more information.

fireworks show over the Columbia River. Begins

The Regatta will be visited by Cal Maritime’s training ship Golden Bear along with 400 to 500 students
aboard. The training ship will take part in several events, including the Admiral’s Reception, Grand Land Parade
and Highwater Boat Parade. The ship serves as a training platform, which allows cadets to apply their techno-
logical skills, leadership skills and responsibilities with the Corps of Cadets.
