REBECCA SPRENGELER
Mackenzie Strain, daughter of Diana and Lonnie Strain, attends Knappa High School where she is junior class vice
president. She is a varsity letterman for three years for volleyball, two years for basketball and two years for softball.
She is a member of Student Council, National Honor Society, Key Club and Prom Committee. Currently, she is a
leader of the National Elementary Honor Society for grades three through six. In November, she attended the
Oregon Association of Student Council’s fall conference in Seaside. Sophomore year she was a leader of the My
Future, My Choice program at Hilda Lahti Elementary, which helps young adults learn how to set goals and prepare
for the future. Last summer she was actively volunteering with Meals on Wheels for senior citizens in the Knappa
area. For the past three years she has volunteered for the Knappa Schools Foundation Dinner and Auction. After
high school, she plans on going to college to pursue a master’s degree in nursing.
Rebecca Sprengeler, daughter of Jeremy and Jennifer Sprengeler, is a junior at Warrenton High School. Rebecca is
involved in Student Council, National Honor Society, Upward Bound, the Prom Committee and CommuniCare, a club
that has helped raise money each year to give back to the community and Warrenton schools. She has been running
cross country for two years and received a varsity letter in fall 2016. Rebecca is also involved in Warrenton High
School’s Fisheries Program, led by Steve Porter, that raises and releases endangered salmon. She is the caretaker of
5,000 Chinook salmon along with her friend, Hally Chauvin. Rebecca is working part time at Astoria Ford as a parts
manager’s assistant. Rebecca attends Coastline Christian Fellowship with her family, as well as Coastline’s high school
youth group. Since summer 2015, she has volunteered with her youth group at Crystal Peaks Youth Ranch in Bend.
While in the Upward Bound Summer Program, she worked with a group of volunteers to paint a mural on the Astoria
Food Bank. Upon graduation, Rebecca plans to enroll in the Clatsop Community College Honors Program for two
years before transferring to Oregon State University to pursue a career in interior design.
