T
he Daily Astorian recently pub-
lished a story about a derelict
house in Alderbrook. Protest signs
cover the structure and property, which has
an old trailer and a few rusted-out cars in
the yard.
Noel Thomas, a prominent Astoria
painter, said he had to go take a look.
“These are my results from a couple of
afternoons painting on site,” he wrote.
Thomas is one of 37 artists participating
in the Astoria Open Studios Tour, held Satur-
day and Sunday, July 29 and 30. At 20 loca-
