Evergreen Masonic Lodge and Maple Chapter Eastern Star in Seaside sponsored the “Bikes For Books” program, aimed at
encouraging third- and fourth-graders in Gearhart and Seaside Heights elementary schools to read books. During the month
of May, each time a student read a book and reported on it, he or she got to enter their name in a drawing for a new bicycle.
At the end of the month, the name of one boy and one girl was drawn. Pictured, left, the Seaside Heights boy winner, Kaedan
Chen, with the girl winner, Liliana Miller. The drawing for the winners at Gearhart Elementary School occurs Thursday.
