and Market Biz Kidz
This is a collaborative project with Clatsop County
4-H to encourage young people to become en-
trepreneurs. We provide an annual “Boot Camp”
where kids learn the basics of making, promoting
and selling a product. During the season we
provide tents, tables and other gear. The Market
Biz Kidz vend together in one location. We also
offer grants to those who vend five or more times
and turn in a completed business plan and grant
application. New this year is a partnership with
Sunset Empire Parks and Recreation for Biz Kidz
to also vend at the Wednesday Seaside Market.

By Bill W. Dodge
Artist Bill W. Dodge will have his latest major new
Astoria original painting available for acquisition,
plus full size prints of the colorful new work. "I
wanted to further define what Astoria means to me
visually. The sights and sounds which make this
incredible area so unique and appealing. I
actually thought the large (22x28) depiction would
finally fully pictorially define its heart and soul,"
Dodge says about the painting. "But, try as I
might I can only proceed on my artistic journey to
depict Astoria. And the title of this new piece
says why I will continue defining Astoria visually in
the coming years. It is entitled 'Astoria is ... and
much, much more!"
Dodge has been painting scenes of Astoria since
1990 when he moved to the area from Carmel,
California where he had an art gallery for several
decades. Following a short period of artistic
retirement in 2012 the 83 year old artist has
resumed painting full time.
