The General Fund level of services is provided by a permanent tax rate. $550,000 in property tax revenue is
estimated for an increase of about 3% compared to the 2016-17 budget. The 2017-2018 operating budget of
approximately $1.97 million, or about 17% more than the current year’s budget due to increased revenue
from the rural fire protection district, building permit fees, transient room tax. Personnel requirements will
increase due to a 2% COLA adjustment, two employee step increases, new part time assistant position, and
a firefighter position. The City’s General Fund tax rate is permanent at $1.0053 per one thousand dollars of
assessed value, and the Road District remains a $0.0602 per one thousand dollars of assessed value.
