Instructor Harley Badger had stu- dents demonstrate food preparations for the lodge’s pea soup rec- ipe and Badger’s family potato sausage recipe. Students prepped and cooked for the group of about 30 lodge members and guests. The lunch was Swedish from coffee to ling- onberry cheesecake. Chef Badger explained the student training process and training sites in the Astoria area. He also told of his youth, growing up in a Vasa Lodge with his family and Swed- ish foods. The luncheon joined two Swedish lodges, one disbanded and one still active, to share old photos and stories after the meal.
