    Double the dream
THE BRENNA ARCHIBALD AND NICK BETTS & JENNA ARCHIBALD AND DENNIS DOCKTER WEDDING
STORY BY KATE GIESE
W
hen twin sisters, Brenna
and Jenna Archibald, of
Gearhart, married Dennis
Dockter and Nick Betts,
respectively, on July 23, 2016, it
seemed more than a little like a
fairy tale — two beautiful brunettes
are romanced by a couple of eligible, dapper
guys, and end up getting hitched in a double wedding at
fabulous Cannon Beach near Haystack Rock.
Meetings
Jenna met Nick, who grew up in Cannon Beach, in the
summer of 2008.

“They had gone to high school together but somehow
their paths never crossed,” explained her twin. In 2013,
Brenna met her guy, Dennis, who is originally from
Winnemucca, Nevada where she teaches school. He’s also a
teacher, and by December they were dating.
Proposals
There’d been no lifelong double wedding fantasy — it just
worked out that way. First, Brenna took off with Dennis on
his motorcycle over a Thanksgiving holiday. When they got
to historic Truckee, California, he proposed. He’d gotten her
parents’ consent beforehand — it was a total surprise.
“We were talking idly of a double wedding after that,”
said Brenna. “Mom even joked about it.” About a month after
Christmas, Jenna and Nick got engaged. He proposed in a
local restaurant — folding a napkin into a ring shape and
giving it to his beloved, as her sister looked on. That was
enough to seal the deal.
Planning
Planning the wedding was a “friends ‘n’ family” affair,
twins and their mom at the helm. Several local venues got
involved — pedicures and manicures at Salon Boheme in
Astoria and hair-styling at Seaside’s Studio 620, courtesy of
Shar Sunnell, the twins’ sister-in-law. Brenna’s best friend,
Cassie Canales, did everyone’s makeup. And the twins’
brother, Skyler Archibald, worked up Spotify playlists for
different activities. >>
