OBITUARY Verna Elina Branthover Astoria Jan. 27, 1917 — Jan. 13, 2017 Verna Elina Branthover, 99, passed away trailer, fi shing and playing cards with their Jan. 13, 2017, at Clatsop Retirement Village in friends. Their favorite destinations were Fish Lake in the Oregon Cascades and the Rogue Astoria, Oregon. Verna was born to Paul and Hilda Karpinen River at Gold Beach, Oregon. Verna was preceded in death by in Astoria, Oregon, on Jan. 27, 1917, her parents, Paul and Hilda Karpinen; and graduated from Astoria High her loving husband, Gordon Sr.; and School Jan. 25, 1935.
