scope to the Automotive Technology Department at Clatsop Community College.
The tool is a teaching aid for students in learning to troubleshoot problems in

SEASIDE — The Rotary
Club of Seaside and its foun-
dation’s annual dinner and
auction, the Ghoulish Gala,
held Oct. 29 at the Seaside
Civic & Convention Center,
is the organization’s single
largest benefit of the year.
The funds raised at the event
assist in serving the needs of
not only the local commu-
nity, but worldwide. Event
co-chairs Raven Brown and
Stewart Martin welcomed
more than 300 guests, many
in fun and creative costumes.
The event raised $52,800
with some funds earmarked
for special programs. Sen.
Betsy Johnson led the pad-
dle bid, which raised more
than $12,000 for the Wish-
ing Tree program, includ-
ing a brand new Shop With
a Cop event held Dec. 10,
when children were paired
with police officers so they
could shop for their families.
Event proceeds also pro-
vided $9,000 for the Food
for Kids program, which
serves underprivileged chil-
dren in South County by
sending them home with
healthy foods.
The remaining funds
will benefit local and inter-
national projects, includ-
ing scholarships and inter-
national youth exchanges,
sponsorship of the all-night
“alcohol-free and safe” Sea-
side High School Grad Night
Party, the Wishing Tree pro-
gram, supporting the needs
of local seniors, provid-
ing water and sanitation in
remote villages in develop-
ing countries and the eradi-
cation of polio.

Fort George raises funds for Wildlife Center
Seaside AAUW raises
money for scholarships

The Fort George Brew-
ery, 1483 Duane St., is hold-
ing a fundraiser for the Wild-
life Center of the North Coast
from 4:30 to 9 p.m. Tues-
day. One hundred percent of
the profits from all food and
drink sales upstairs at the Fort
will support the WCNC’s
wildlife patients. There is also
a raffle, and the wildlife cen-
ter’s new T-shirts and hoodies
are available for sale.
The WCNC’s goal is to
heal injured wildlife so they
can be returned to their nat-
ural environment. Funds
raised help provide critical
care, medicines, and nutri-
tious food for injured, sick
or orphaned birds and other
wildlife needing help.

tions of the Holy Eucharist.
On Saturday, Calvary offers
a half hour of carol singing

Holy Eucharist follows at 9
p.m. The usual Saturday 5

On Sunday, Calvary offers
a celebration of the Holy
Eucharist at 10 a.m. This is a
