He is recognized for his sportsmanship in and out of the classroom. Submitted Photo Kris Saulsbury’s landscaping class at Tongue Point Job Corps Center went to Pioneer Presbyterian Church on Clatsop Plains on a rainy Oct. 24 and spent at least seven hours digging trenches and planting 1,600 daffodil bulbs. The flowers will be used in April to construct the cross that is laid on the slope in front of the church during the Easter season each spring. This tradition has been going on since about 1943, and at times the cross has been at least 40 feet long and used 50,000 daffodils. Interfaith Partnership SEASIDE — The South County Interfaith Partnership meets at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Pig ’N Pancake, 323 Broadway, to foster bet- ter understanding among faith practitioners and to nurture one another in spirit.
