I'm a volunteer Chief. I joined in
2001 after my neighbor had a
chimney fire and the kids were home
alone. They came to get me to help
after they called 911. When the FD
arrived the volunteers on scene
mentioned they could use more
volunteers. I joined and worked my
way up from there. I earned my EMT
at Clatsop Community College and
was promoted to Captain, Safety
Officer, Deputy Chief and then Chief.
I also volunteered with Clatskanie Fire
for a few years after I received my EMT
in 2003 in order to increase the number of calls I was able to
respond to and gain firefighting and EMS experience more quickly.
I work full time as the Lead Fleet Maintenance Mechanic for the City
of Longview.
