MATT BENIDICT

Chief Matthew Benedict began his fire service
career in the late 1980’s in the Portland metro area.
Upon receiving his Fire Science Degree and Paramedic
certification in 1994, he was hired by Pendleton Fire &
Ambulance. Chief Benedict served Pendleton Fire &
Ambulance for 21 years, the last 2 years as Assistant
Chief . He was then selected by Cannon Beach RFPD as
their Chief. Chief Benedict has brought several new
ideas to the organization and implemented policies
based on SDAO Best Practices, OR-OSHA standards, and
current trends in the Fire Service.
