2A THE DAILY ASTORIAN • WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 26, 2016 ‘What is a favorite Halloween memory or costume?’ THE DAILY ASTORIAN // QUESTION OF THE WEEK “My daughter dressed up as Princess Leia once. That was pretty cool. And, I was at the Labor Temple and there were people at a table all dressed up as characters from ‘The Wizard of Oz.’ My favorite thing about Halloween is I always dress my husband up like a girl.” “I was a black cat in college. Tights, ears, mittens, turtleneck. I was in Denver in the snow. We went trick or treating, and nobody knew who we were. It was fun.” “I would say taking my little sister trick or treating for the fi rst time. She was 10 years younger, so it was really fun.” Tammy Lagerquist, Astoria Honey Marques, Gresham Mick Hasson, Astoria OBITUARIES Lu Ell Franz Beverly Waggstaff Autzen Warrenton Feb. 6, 1926 — Sept. 28, 2016 Gearhart Aug. 13, 1923 — Oct. 16, 2016 Lu Ell (Luell Ellingson Franz) was born Feb. 6, 1926 in Portland, Oregon, and passed Sept. 28, 2016, in Portland, Oregon. Need a Lift? More than 10,000 Clatsop County tax payers may have received the wrong property tax statements last week due to a processing error by the state agency that mails out the bills. The error only affects property owners who nor- mally receive two to six state- ments annually. Property own- ers with only one property, or more than six, don’t appear to have been affected, said Suzanne Johnson, assessment and taxation director for Clat- sop County. While the statements them- selves contain correct infor- mation, many of them did not reach the intended property owner. Instead, various people contacted the county’s Assess- ment and Taxation offi ce say- ing they had received some- one else’s statements.
