DRAGONFIRE GALLERY FIRST & HEMLOCK STREET | CANNON BEACH DRAGONFIREGALLERY.COM Come and join the action and excitement of artists working in front of you and get insight into the creative process. Watercolor, oils, acrylics and blown glass are the media represented by this year’s featured artists. Bev Jozwiak, a National Watercolor Society Signature member will demonstrate her blending of technique and emotion in this medium. An international award winning artist who also paints in acrylics, Bev is a well-respected teacher of workshops across the country. Michael Orwick will showcase his approach of painting from light to dark. A master hand with oils, Michael is a native Oregonian who interprets the Northwest landscape through the nuance of light and shadow. Michael is also a gifted teacher of studio and plein air painting. Kelly Howard will talk about the challenges and alchemy of blown glass as a science and art form. A native of Chicago, Kelly blows glass in Lincoln City. Her vessels, lights and ornaments show a painters’ aesthetic at work in glass. Her “illuminated glass” reveals layers of finely realized texture and color. On Sunday, Michael Orwick will be joined by fellow DragonFire artist Anton Pavlenko for the third annual Dualing Easels event. This is an entertaining and educational demonstration of painting technique and artistry. Part competition, part collaboration, part master class, don’t miss this showcase for two accomplished painters and friends with very different approaches to their craft.
