S
teven Whitaker,
center, of Woodland,
was the 2015 winner
of the 32nd Annual Rod
Run to the End of the
World Engine Raffle. A
long tradition, the raffle
begins with an unadorned
engine that Beach Barons
members accessorize
and finish. It is taken to
many shows throughout
Washington and Oregon,
starting with Camp Rilea
near Warrenton, Oregon,
in April. The engine is
exhibited each year at
the Washington State
International Kite Festival
in Long Beach in August,
at which Beach Barons
volunteer, hauling people
and products around on
carts.
