Ideue puts in long
day for two wins

SEASIDE — Seaside’s Jetta
Ideue pitched all 14 innings of a
doubleheader Friday at Broad-
way Field, in a 5-1, 13-6 sweep
over Valley Catholic in Cowapa
League softball action.
Ideue threw a total of 193
pitches on the day, as she gave
up nine hits and struck out 11
batters with just two walks in the
two seven-inning games.
The Gulls came out swing-
ing in the opener, scoring four of
WKHLU¿YHUXQVLQWKH¿UVWLQQLQJ
Whitney Westerholm and
Ideue both had RBI doubles,
and Brittany West also drove in
a run. Westerholm was 2-for-2
with a pair of doubles, while
Jetta Ideue had a double and
Paige Ideue added a triple.
Seaside pounded out 17 hits
in Game 2, and led 10-6 after
three innings.
West was 3-for-4 and scored
twice, and the Gulls had six dou-
bles, two by Mica Paranal, who
drove in three runs. Seaside
improves to 7-5 overall, 2-1 in
league.
