La Cabana de Raya is located at
35431 U.S. Highway 101, just across
the Old Youngs Bay Bridge from
Astoria. The restaurant is open from
11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through

Cabana de Raya continues

Leticia Raya, and operated
entirely by their family, this
small restaurant overlooks
Youngs Bay and has been
open since 2011.
“My dad worked at the
cannery and my mom was
a shift manager at McDon-
ald’s,” says Geovanni Raya,
24, one of the couple’s sons
who cooks and also helps
manage the business. “They
did that for 14 years, and
then one day my dad said, ‘I
know we can do better.’”
