Cannon Beach Florist aka “Basketcase” fashioned the
bride’s stunning bouquet. “They did an amazing job,” she
admits. “I must have changed my mind 100 times. I’ll
never know how they got what I had in my head, but it
was perfect!” They even found black flowers to accent
the exquisite white flowers rimmed in pink Amanda had
chosen.
If everything didn’t come our exactly as planned,
Amanda and Daniel took it in stride. First, there was the
music.
“My lovely husband spent months working up the
soundtrack for (the wedding),” shares Amanda. Alas, the
Internet connection wasn’t good, but Daniel and some
friends were able to create a quick playlist downloaded
from people’s cell phones and a laptop.
Second, the bride got sick on the day of the wedding.
“A bridesmaid from Minnesota caught something and
passed it around,” says Amanda wryly. “Everyone
thought I was choked up and crying during our vows, but
I was actually gasping for air.”
On the upside, Amanda and Daniel actually paid for
their wedding themselves, in cash no less! He
acknowledges, “You don’t see that much. But we didn’t
want to begin our lives being in debt. We wanted enjoy
the (day) and our families and not feel stressed out. We
figured we could either do a nice wedding or take a trip.
To do both would have been too much.”
