THE KIM JOHNS & ART MORSE WEDDING
A
“beach casual” wedding
with moments of sweetness
and meaning, great visuals
and terrific hospitality — it
was all there when Art Morse
married and Kimberly Johns, on
July 18 in Arch Cape.
Spending a good year and half planning
their big day, the two orchestrated a poignant ceremony
in a drop-dead-gorgeous setting. They would share
their joy with friends and family members, treating
them to a kind of personalized pageant to celebrate
Kim and Art’s new life together as man and wife.

Battleground, Washington, a business started by his
dad. Kim, 43, works as a paralegal at Graham Price.
The two met at Starbucks. Here’s what happened.
Every Monday through Friday at exactly 8:05 a.m.,
Art would get coffee at Starbucks on his way to work
— the one inside the local Fred Meyer where Kim
happened worked as an auditor. They’d catch glimpses
of each other in the store. Sometimes, they’d make eye
contact or say “Hi.”
“One day there was a free coffee waiting for me
courtesy of Kim who wasn’t around, says Art. “I
thought to myself, ‘This is gonna be great; it’s
something we’re both seeing! Some encouragement!”
He promptly went out and left a note on her car asking
that she call. Kim rang him that night.
The Proposal
Art popped the question when he and Kim were
staying in a condo in Vancouver, British Columbia, at
Nanoose Bay. They were at the bay’s shore; Kim stood
on a rock looking out at the view. As she turned around
she saw her paramour holding a ring in its open box,
asking that she spend the rest of her life with him. Kim
claims the proposal was a total surprise and fondly
credits her newly acquired husband with having “a
romantic streak a mile wide.” >>
