Oregon Coast (you know the ones you
can never be sure of) Janet Justine
Hockman, 28, and Leonard (Lenny)
Sheridan III, 33, exchanged wedding vows
on Del Rey Beach State Park in Warrenton.
Janet is from Pennsylvania; Lenny from
New Jersey. They first met at a Pennsylvania Phillies
game in 2010.
“We’re both huge Philly fans and happened to be at
the same game at the same time. I guess you could call it
love at first sight,” Janet said. “We talked that night for at
least an hour and a half. At the end of the game he asked
me for my phone number. My friends who were with me

were shocked. They said they had never seen me give my
number to a new acquaintance. I just had a really good
feeling about this. We went out on a date two days later
and have been together ever since,” she said.
Both avid outdoors people, the couple started their
westward migration in New Jersey moving to Colorado,
and then ventured toward Oregon. “We traveled
throughout the Western U.S., seeing Oregon for the first
time together. Once we saw the beauty of the coast, we
knew we wanted to locate in Oregon.”
It was on a camping trip at Fort Stevens State Park
on an early morning hike, Janet turned to her suitor and
found him on bended knee asking her to be his wife.
