The Daily Astorian
The Astoria wrestling
team hosted a three-way
dual meet Wednesday night
at the Brick House, as wres-
tlers from Scappoose and
Seaside joined the Fisher-
men for a night of Cowapa
League wrestling.
Scappoose was the big
winner, as the Indians scored
victories over Astoria (47-
33) and Seaside (69-9),
while the Fishermen defeat-
ed the Gulls in the Clatsop
Clash portion of the meet,
54-18.
It was Senior Night for
Astoria, which honored
seniors Mateo DeVargas,
Bronson Holthusen, Devon
Nikkila-Keiner and Andrew
Poplin.
Astoria’s Tyler Ranta and
Poplin both won a pair of
matches by pins, while De-
Vargas won one match by
pin and another by decision.
Fishermen Juan Jimenez
and Trey Hageman also each
