Camp Kiwanilong receives
grant to make upgrades

U.S. Bank awarded Camp Kiwanilong a $2,000 grant, which
will be used as part of the matching funds that needs to
be raised for the recently awarded 2016 Gray Family Foun-
dation Camp Maintenance Grant. The foundation is con-
tributing $2 for every $1 raised, for a matching amount of
up to $35,000. These funds will help the camp restore and
upgrade cabins and bathrooms, as well as rehabbing the
Nature/Craft and Science Activity Centers.

Steve and Becky Roman of Astoria announce the engage-
ment of their daughter, Molly Caroline Roman of Portland,
to Kelly Neighbor Yeend, also of Portland. He is the son of
Stan and Leslie Yeend of Beaverton.
The bride-to-be is a graduate of Astoria High School and
the University of Oregon. She is employed by the Oregon
Community Foundation.
The prospective groom graduated from Century High
School and the University of Oregon. He works for Standard
Insurance Company.
A fall 2016 wedding is planned in Astoria.
ALCP receives $5,000 grant from U.S. Bank
Assistance League of the Co-
lumbia Pacific (ALCP) President
Jane Cartwright was pleased to
receive a helping hand from U.S.
Bank. The U.S. BanCorp Founda-
tion awarded ALCP an unrestrict-
ed grant of $5,000 to help in their
mission to improve the lives of
young people in Clatsop County.
Sheila Ranta, ALCP vice pres-
ident of resource development,
had applied for the grant. “U.S.
Bank has been a consistent sup-
porter of our programs year after
year, and this grant will provide
new school appropriate clothing
for 50 local students in need,” she
said.
ALCP has four philanthropic
programs including their signa-
ture program, Operation School
Bell, Athletic Participation, Duf-
fle Bag and Cinderella’s Closet.
