Fire Department’s 27th annu-
al Christmas Food Parade.
Fire¿ ghters, family, and
friends are picking up non-
perishable food items and
donations for needy fami-
lies this holiday season. The
¿ re engines will be decorat-
ed with lights and playing
Christmas music, and Santa
Claus is making an appear-
ance to help hand out candy
canes and spread the Christ-
mas joy.
The routes are as follows:
• Tuesday — Emerald
Heights, through Alder-
brook and Uppertown:
Starting at Towers Road
in Emerald Heights; then
Towers to Mitscher Road;
Mitscher to Halsey Road;
Halsey to Nimitz Drive; and
Nimitz to the Community
Center. The route picks up

sidered “very drivable after
repairs,” Dugan added.

ed for a knee injury suffered
during the response.
“I talked to him last night,
and he seems to be doing
well,” Dugan said Monday.
“They stabilized him, he went
home from the hospital, and
he’s going to see a specialist
today. No other injuries —
except other than a few sore
bones.”

SEASIDE — An electrical
malfunction likely caused a
¿ re on 11th Avenue in Sea-
side on Sunday that destroyed
three homes and badly dam-
aged a fourth home, ¿ re of¿ -
cials said Monday.
L osses are estimated at $2
million to $3 million.
“It’s such a large ¿ re, there
will be a lot of work as far
as doing the investigation,”
Seaside Division Chief Chris
Dugan said .
The house ¿ re was re-
ported to Seaside dispatch
early Sunday morning at ap-
proximately 2:33 a.m. Fire
emergency personnel were
dispatched to the 100 and 200
blocks of 11th Avenue and
on scene within a few min-
utes. By 2:44 a.m. the ¿ re had
reached two-alarm status, and
at 3:08 a.m. the ¿ re expanded
to a three-alarm ¿ re.
By 7:35 a.m., the ¿ re was
contained.
The addresses of the hous-
es that were destroyed were
located at 121, 125, and 131
11th Avenue. The house with
extensive damage was locat-
ed at 221 11th Avenue.
Fire departments and
emergency personnel from
Seaside, Cannon Beach,
Gearhart, Astoria and Ham-
let responded to the alarm
Sunday morning . Ultimately
more than 50 ¿ re¿ ghters re-
sponded to the fast-moving
¿ re.
Three other homes nearby
had minor damage, including
broken windows, bubbled
paint and smoke damage, Du-
gan said.
A Winnebago home and a
passenger car were deemed a
total loss, Dugan said.
