College Foundation
PROGRAM OVERVIEW
The work of the Clatsop Community College
Foundation is focused on student success. In
2014/2015, students received $109,162 in
scholarship support. Scholarships ensure critical
access to higher education that benefits our
entire community. Donors can establish named
and endowed scholarships that support
students in perpetuity, or can contribute
annually to scholarship funds. In each case,
donors can direct funds to meet their goals.
The Foundation also houses several student
support programs. The Bandits Discount
Program connects current students with local
businesses, providing an economic benefit to all participants. Struggling students receive support from
their community, and local businesses have increased visibility with the student population. The Bandits
Alumni & Members Association is a vehicle for graduates and current students to stay connected with one
another and with CCC, and provides valuable professional networking opportunities.
The CCC Foundation works continually to strengthen CCC’s academic programs. Support is provided
through endowed funds implementing donor-defined interests, grants and special events. The result is
state-of-the-art classrooms, labs and technology to support student achievement.
All gifts to the CCC Foundation leave a legacy. CCC students begin their careers, hone their skills, and
develop the qualities needed to build the community we imagine.
GIVING OPPORTUNITIES
Cash gifts to the CCC Foundation can be directed to
scholarships, programs or to the Fund for Excellence. The
Fund for Excellence allows the Foundation board to work
with the administration of CCC to direct funds to the
college’s areas of highest need. Cash gifts can also be
given in honor or memory of an individual, extending their
legacy through the gift of education.
Business sponsorships help maximize support for the
college. The 2016 Arts & Experience Dinner and Auction is
scheduled for April 30. Details can be found at
www.clatsopcc.edu/foundation.
Cash gifts can be made by check payable to the CCC
Foundation or online through PayPal. A link to the PayPal
giving site is located on each page of the college’s website,
www.clatsopcc.edu. Recurring and automatic gifts can be
established through your bank. Also, don’t forget to
benefit the CCC Foundation through your company’s
matching gift program. All gifts to the CCC Foundation
are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
Businesses can also help the college develop their own
workforce through sponsorship directed to a specific
program, for example, nursing, automotive technician or
maritime science. The Foundation welcomes these
investments in the economic vitality of our community.
A major focus of the Foundation’s fundraising activity is
the annual Arts & Experience Dinner and Auction. The
event funds specific needs identified by the college as well
as scholarships and programs through the generous
support of local artists, businesses and event attendees.
Other annual events include the Alumni and Members
Open House and the Scholarship Reception and Donor
Appreciation Concert.
Legacy gifts help create a learning community that will
persist for years to come. These gifts build a solid future
for students of all ages. By naming the CCC Foundation as
a beneficiary of your will, trust or life insurance policy, you
become a partner with the Foundation to expand access
to higher education, and to ensure challenging
educational experiences for all residents of Clatsop County
and SW Washington.
