PROGRAM OVERVIEW
Clatsop Community Action (CCA), a non-profit corporation,
has been serving Clatsop County Oregon's low-income residents
since 1984 with supportive housing, energy assistance, assessment
and referral services, under an active Board of Directors, that
represents our community’s low-income residents, business and
public officials and other community stakeholders.
CCA operates the Regional Food Bank (RFB) located in
Warrenton, safely distributing dry staples, meat, fresh produce,
and frozen and refrigerated foods to multiple food pantries and
meal sites throughout Clatsop County who directly serve homeless
and those individuals and their families who are below or at-
poverty level. The RFB network distributes 1.5 million pounds of
food annually, translating to approximately 1,210,000 meals for Clatsop County residents suffering from hunger
and hunger insecurity. The RFB also operates the Food Bank Fresh Mobile Produce Pantry, distributing fresh
produce directly to those in need. With the help of dedicated volunteers, the Mobile Produce Pantry distributed
over 220,000 pounds of fresh fruits and vegetables this summer season alone.
CCA’s supportive housing case managers and energy assistance program specialist work extensively and
collaboratively with all other community partnerships whose relationships are critical to serving the chronically
homeless and low-income veteran populations.
Referrals and self-referrals to CCA, via either by phone or walk-in for calendar year 2014 came to 1,483
clients requesting services. CCA strives to provide a welcoming and personal face-to-face interaction with all
clients who call or walk-in with various crises related to housing situations, clothing and personal item needs,
domestic issues needing a referral to the monthly legal services clinic, directions to the food pantries and meal
sites are “all in a day’s work. Clatsop Community Action’s Energy Assistance program coordinates services with
CCA’s Case Management Services, Assessment and Referral/Intake Staff and its special Supportive Services for
Veterans and their families Case Manager to provide individualized services to individuals and their families who
meet eligibility criteria for each of our programs.
