Clatsop Community Action
Regional Food Bank — Volun-
teers needed to help hand out
fruits and vegetables at the week-

Warehouse attendants are need-
ed for food packing or processing,
picking orders for agencies, light
janitorial and housekeeping, or
lawn and grounds maintenance.

science-based method that along
with spay/neuter programs is the
only effective and humane way
of ending cat homelessness and

Young women ages 13 to
24 who are interested in be-
coming the next Miss Clatsop
County, Miss North Coast,
Miss Clatsop County’s Out-
standing Teen, or Miss North
Coast’s Outstanding Teen are
asked to visit the Miss Clatsop
County Scholarship Program

other requirements, contestants
must reside, attend school or
work in Clatsop, Tillamook, or
Columbia county.
The Miss Clatsop Coun-
ty Scholarship Program is a
nonpro¿ t corporation estab-
lished solely to provide con-
testants with the opportunity
to enhance their professional
and educational goals, and to
achieve those pursuits with the
assistance of monetary grants
and awards.
For younger participants,
the emphasis is on citizenship,
leadership, and volunteerism.
The Miss Clatsop County
Scholarship Program is an of-
¿ cial preliminary competition
for the Miss Oregon Schol-
arship program, a part of the
Miss America Organization, a
scholarship provider for wom-
en. In 2015, the Miss Clatsop
County Organization awarded

over $6,500 in scholarships to
local women.
The Miss Clatsop County
Program is scheduled for Feb.
20 at the Seaside Convention
Center. Teen and Miss Contes-
tants are judged in interview,
talent, physical ¿ tness, eve-
ning wear and on-stage ques-
tion. The deadline to enter is
Nov. 30. Winners will move
on to represent this area at the
Miss Oregon pageant in June.
In addition to the Miss
and Teen divisions, the Miss
Clatsop County Scholarship
Program supports a Princess
mentoring program for young
ladies ages 6 to 12. A $50 par-
ticipation fee is requested for
those participating. At a ran-
dom draw, one princess will
become the of¿ cial princess
for the Miss Clatsop County
Scholarship Program for the
year, and will be sponsored at
the Miss Oregon Scholarship
Program, with a possibility to
move on to Miss America’s
Outstanding Teen Program in
Orlando, Fla.
The Miss Clatsop County
Scholarship Program is run
solely by volunteers. Individ-
uals interested in starting a
program in Tillamook and Co-
lumbia counties are actively
being sought.
