Fed up with hugging hubby
Tomorrow’s horoscope
Dear Annie: My husband and
I are in our 60s. Recently, he
hugged a new neighbor and kissed
her on the cheek. She is our age
and divorced. We don’t know her
well at all. I was shocked, embar-
rassed and angry.
I commented later, asking my
husband if he hugged and kissed
any of the other women (all mar-
ried) in our group of friends. He
thinks I’m being ridiculous. But
he has done similar things times
in the past whenever there’s a new
female around. It’s like he can’t
help it. He becomes completely
obsessed with the “new girl.”
We’ve been married a long
time. I told him he should always
act like a married man and that his
flirtatious behavior makes me feel
terrible and I don’t want to expe-
rience it anymore. I’m in shape
and attractive. I’ve thought about
doing something to make my hus-
band jealous to see how he reacts.
Right now, I’m fed up and consid-
ering a divorce so I can enjoy the
rest of my life. What’s the deal?
— Fed Up in Music City
Dear Fed Up: It sounds like
your husband is feeling his age
and finds that something “new”
makes him feel young and frisky
ARIES (March 21-April 19). It is within
your power to change the environment for
good or for ill. A small and repetitive ges-
ture will make a considerable difference.
Social luck centers on a sharp Gemini.
TAURUS (April 20-May 20). It’s final-
ly happened. The one you were so im-
pressed with has managed to bore you.
Well, don’t worry or make any rash deci-
sions. This relationship is cyclical.
GEMINI (May 21-June 21). Sometimes
your wisecracks make people smile, but
there are times when they don’t land with
quite the same grace. That’s why today is
such a special gift. People understand your
genius and will pay you for it, too.
CANCER (June 22-July 22). Test your
ideas quietly before you bring them into
the public eye. This will allow you to take
risks and make your mistakes in obscurity.
When you have consistent success, then
you’ll tell the whole world.
LEO (July 23-Aug. 22). Those who’ve
achieved greatness can’t always teach
what they know, as teaching is its own gift.
Seek the mentor who can guide you with
wisdom, compassion and excellent com-
VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22). Where the
fault rests on only one side, the argument
will be short. In a fight that goes on and on,
both parties are to blame. You’ll act as a
mediator and come up with a solution that
satisfies everyone.
LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 23). Your expe-
riences have taught you a version of the
world. Your neighbor has a completely differ-
ent version, though, and you’ll get a window
into it today. It’s an honor to be a part of this.

again. This is only threatening to
your marriage if he acts on these
impulses with more than hugs and
cheek kisses, and the woman re-
acts with equal interest. The next
step is entirely up to you.
You cannot force your husband
to change unless he recognizes the
need and is willing. So, knowing
that these flirtations go no further,
can you tolerate them? Is this the
only sore spot in your marriage?
Do the pros outweigh the cons?
Would you be willing to get coun-
seling (with or without him) to
work on the issue? Do you really
want to leave him over this? Of-
ten, the decisions we make when
we are angry or frustrated turn out
to be regretted. Please give the
situation a great deal of thought
before you act, and consider your
options carefully.
Dear Annie: I feel I must give
“Carol in Columbus, Oh.,” one
more word of wisdom to add to
your good advice.
She said she wanted to start
up her own small business, but
her husband was very controlling
when it came to money. Please tell
her to make sure she sees a law-
yer right from the start. She needs
to be certain that this new venture
she is starting with her own mon-
ey, credit, sweat and tears remains
her own property. There are ways
to separate it from the controlling
I know, because I started my
own business seven years ago.
My husband would not sign any-
thing to help me in my new ven-
ture, so I did it all myself with
my meager savings and a small
gift from my mom. Now that
the business is a big success he
calls it “ours” and claims half of
everything, even though he has
not contributed a day of work
or a dollar of investment. Carol
should be smarter. — Been There
Done That
Dear Been There: Whenever
starting a business, legal advice is
always a good idea. Thanks for the
additional suggestion.

SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov. 21). Start
where you are. Before you can change
your response, accept the one you’re al-
ready having. Acknowledge the feelings
you’re experiencing without judging them
to be wrong or right.
SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21). You
have good reasons to be proud of yourself
and confident about what to do next. Think
of what those reasons might be and write
them down for reinforcement.
CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19). Maybe
the other animals aren’t as concerned with
names, but the human animal needs to put
a name on things in order to process them.
That’s why today it will help you to name
your feelings.
AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18). Reach
out. If anyone around is feeling isolated or
judged, it will negatively impact the whole
group. Be the peacekeeper. Your sensitivity
will prevent future negativity.
PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20). Following
the complexities of your creative spirit, you
weave your personal mythology. Real-life
events turn into elaborate, meaningful sto-
ries. Write it all down — it will be interesting
to you later.
You’re a spirit in the material world, and the
miraculous connections and happenings
over the next seven weeks drive the point
home. In October, you’ll find yourself where
you never would have guessed you’d end
up. You’ll band together with like minds and
change lives. Romance heats up in Febru-
ary and May. Cancer and Scorpio people
adore you. Your lucky numbers are: 8, 30,
25, 44 and 16.
