Noon in Downtown Astoria. The largest parade –
complete with floats, decorated cars, walkers and candy
– begins at noon Saturday, Aug. 8. Snag a prime viewing
spot and prepare for a good time.
The newly crowned 2015 Regatta Queen highlights
the parade along with dignitaries, other festivals and
elected officials.
The parade begins at 17th and Exchange Street and
proceeds west on Exchange Street to Ninth Street, then
turns north to Duane Street. Floats head east on Duane
Street and end on 16th Street, where parade participants
disband near John Warren Field.
Make sure to grab a bite to eat before or after the pa-
rade at the Regatta barbecue located in Regatta Square at
12th and Duane Street from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. or fuel up
early at the pancake feed at Moose Lodge at 8 a.m.
Regatta Square is the headquarters for the activities
on Saturday, Aug. 8, and Ohana Media Group will emcee
the day’s events, including Tom Freel announcing the
parade from the square. There will also be a beer garden,
Fun Zone for kids and performances throughout the af-
ternoon on the main stage. Plan to come to Regatta
Square before and after the parade.
Make sure to purchase your unique 2015 Regatta pin
for $10 from one of the 33 participating vendors and re-
ceive discounts at your favorite local shops.
