John and Jan Lindstrom have been the proud owner’s of Lindstrom’s Danish
Maid Bakery & Coffee shop delivering scrumptious, quality pastries to the
community since 1986. Under their ownership the bakery has continued to be a
signature for Astoria. They specialize in fine pastries, cakes, wedding cakes, a
large variety of fresh bread and great lunches served Monday through Saturday.
Their famous Tom & Jerry batter is a tradition for the community during the
Holidays.
The bakery itself has been in existence since 1925 and was founded by Harry A
Morrow. It was then known as Morrow’s Bakery. In 1942 it became Jones’ Bakery
when it was purchased by Harold and Verna Jones. In 1970 the bakery changed
hands once again and was sold to Carl and Melanie Maxwell who renamed it the
Danish Maid Bakery. In 1975 Howard and Dorothy Schoen purchased it and then
sold it to Jan and John Lindstrom in 1986 which added to the name “Lindstrom’s.”
