FOR THE COUNTY OF MULTNOMAH
WANDA MILLS, aka Wanda Broadoas-Mills, and
BRENDA GERSCH
Plaintiffs,
PAUL T. FALBY, BILL NOBLE, and
LINDA QUILLIN,
Defendants.
Case No. 15CV14112
SUMMONS BY PUBLICATION
TO: Paul T. Falby and Bill Noble
DATE OF FIRST PUBLICATION: July 31st, 2015
You are hereby required to appear and defend the petition filed against you in the above entitled action within
thirty (30) days from the date of service of this summons upon you, and in case of your failure to do so, for
want thereof, Plaintiff will apply to the court for the relief demanded in the petition.
NOTICE TO THE DEFENDANT: READ THESE PAPERS CAREFULLY!
You must “appear” in this case or the other side will win automatically. To “appear” you must file with the court
a legal paper called a “motion” or “answer”. The “motion” or “answer” must be given to the court clerk or
administrator within thirty (30) days of the date of first publication specified herein along with the required
filing fee. It must be in proper form and have proof of service on the Plaintiff’s attorney or, if the Plaintiff does
not have an attorney, proof of service upon the Plaintiff.
The complaint alleges that you violated the Residential Landlord-Tenant Act by providing a nonhabitable
leasehold, by permitting contractors to repeatedly enter an area reserved to Plaintiffs under the rental
agreement without Plaintiffs’ consent or notice to Plaintiffs, and by issuing a notice of termination of Plaintiffs’
lease in retaliation for Plaintiffs’ complaints; that you discriminated against Plaintiffs on the grounds of race by
delaying remediation of nonhabitable conditions and issuing the notice of termination in violation of ORS
93.360 and 659A.421; and other allegations against other defendants. On claims against you, Plaintiffs seek
damages totaling $12,800.00 against Mr. Falby and $5,625.00 against Mr. Noble, a declaration that the notice
of termination is invalid, their costs, disbursements, and reasonable attorney fees, and such other relief as is
just and equitable.
If you have any questions, you should see an attorney immediately. If you need help in finding an attorney, you
may call the Oregon State Bar’s Lawyer Referral Service at (503) 684-3763 or toll free in Oregon at
