Beach Chorus will feature
“The Best of Gilbert & Sul-
livan” at the summer Cabaret
performances at 7 p.m. Friday
and Saturday, July 10 and 11.
The chorus, under the di-
rection of John Buehler with
pianist Susan Buehler, will
perform favorite choruses
from “Pirates of Penzance,”
“The Mikado,” and “H.M.S.
Pinafore.”

Homme Memorial Scholar-

level. The 2015 scholarship

SEASIDE — Sandra Claire
Foushee, winner of the Wil-
liam Stafford Poetry Award,
will offer a writing workshop,
Painting with Words: The Art
of Visual Ideas.
This creative workshop is
designed to help you articulate
your conscious experience, to
visualize and paint with images,
listen to the rhythm of words as
you write, to open your imag-
ination. Writing can take the
form of poems, lyrics, children’s
or short stories, lyrical essays.
Foushee has been pub-
lished in many literary jour-
nals, including Ploughshares
and The Seattle Review. She
has taught at Clatsop Commu-
nity College, and Tillamook
Bay Community College.
The workshop will be held
from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. Mon-
day, July 13 to Aug. 3 at Beach
Books, located at 616 Broad-
way. Cost is $20 per session or
