Poyer returns for camp
Boater education class set
The Daily Astorian
The second annual Jordan Poyer Football Camp is
scheduled for Sunday at CMH Field.
The Astoria High School graduate, former Oregon
State All-American and current member of the Cleve-
land Browns, along with the Astoria High School foot-
ball coaching staff, are conducting a one-day football
camp for any child entering kindergarten through
eighth grade in the fall.
Cost of the camp is $40. Campers may register the
day of the camp from noon to 12:45 p.m. The camp takes
place from 1 p.m to 5 p.m.
Campers should wear cloth shorts and T-shirt and
rubber molded shoes (metal cleats are not allowed).
All participants will receive a T-shirt and be allowed
to take one photo with Poyer.

T-shirts, autographs and pictures with Jordan Poyer will
all be a part of Sunday’s football camp.

are holding a mandatory
boater education class lead-
ing to a boater education
card.
The class is 8 a.m. to 4
p.m. Saturday in the sec-
ond-floor conference room
at Englund Marine & Indus-
trial Supply, 95 Hamburg
Ave.
Registration is at7:30
a.m. The class is $10.
The course covers boat-
ing safety; local boating
rules; and tips making boat-
ing more enjoyable. A sec-
tion on cold-water survival
is offered.
Those passing the course
can apply for a boater ed-
ucation card. All Oregon
boaters 12 and older must
carry their card when op-
erating power boats greater
than 10 horsepower. The
Boater Education Card also
saves money on boat insur-
ance.
