the state track meet later this
week.
Catlin Gabel topped the field
of eight teams with 188 points,
followed by Warrenton (143) and
Clatskanie (98). Catlin Gabel also
won the girls’ title with 149 points,
with Warrenton (76.5) fourth.
The Warrenton boys had two
individual winners — and, as al-
ways, scored most of their points
in the throwing events.
Bryton Kyme had a victory in
the shot put (45 feet, 4.25 inch-
es), and took second in the discus
(117-1).
Teammate Chris Ocana won the
javelin with a throw of 161-9, and
Eli Petersen was second in the shot
put (42-8) and third in the discus
(113-5). Juan Salcedo was third in
the shot (40-8 ¼), for a 1-2-3 War-
rior sweep.
Ocana scored a second-place
finish in the high jump (5-6), and
Tyler Whitaker added points with
third in the long jump (19-5) and
triple jump (38-9 ½).
Libby Biel had a field event
win for the Warrenton girls, soar-
ing 32-3 to win the triple jump.
She also placed second in the long
jump (15-1 ¾).

renton freshman Macie Fritz, who
won the 300-meter hurdles in
51.67 seconds, and took second in
the 100 hurdles (18.66), qualifying
for state in both events.

games with the Cubs.
Castillo has appeared in

3.00 ERA in 12 relief ap-
pearances with Seattle be-
fore being optioned to Tri-
ple-A Tacoma on May 3.
Medina has made 141 relief
