This is Ascension Sunday, the anniversary of the consecration of the first Grace Church on Commer- cial Street in 1867, and in 1886 for the current Grace Church. The anniversary marks the end of the year- long sesquicentennial cel- ebration of 150 years of Grace Church in Astoria. Grace Church is one of the 74 Episcopal churches in the Diocese of Western Or- egon which Bishop Hanley oversees.
