Cruise Ship Markets
Astoria Sunday Market was founded in 2000 to revitalize its historic downtown.
The success of the Market has been even greater than imagined and today it is a
core feature of this coastal river town. Locals and tourists alike enjoy the bustling,
colorful and lively weekly Market.
Astoria Sunday Market provides vendors at the Port of Astoria creang a fesve
welcoming for the Cruise Ships. The Cruise Ship Hosts – a non-profit organizaon
that provides over 200 volunteers to welcome Cruise guests to our city – take
the lead in this effort and work closely with the Market and the Port of Astoria.

While the seasonal Sunday market is the engine that drives the mission and
ensures sustainability, Astoria Sunday Market is involved in creang other
projects that benefit the community. Other Market programs include:
Each year we bring the best of Astoria Sunday Market indoors for a fesve
indoor marketplace in me for the holidays.
Young Entrepreneur’s Club and Market Biz Kidz
This is a collaborave project with Clatsop County 4-H to encourage young
people to become entrepreneurs. The program has been sponsored by Recology
Western Oregon since its launch in 2009. Wauna Federal Credit Union is also
returning for its fourth year to sponsor this program and Clatsop Community
Bank has been a long-me supporter of our Biz Kidz.
Mission
The Astoria Sunday Market is a non profit 501 (c) 3 organizaon formed to
revitalize historic downtown Astoria and to improve the economic viability and
vitality of farmers, arsts, arsans and other small business operators in the
Pacific Northwest. The Market is dedicated to creang a vibrant educaonal
marketplace for the community benefit.
