German George shuts down Warriors, 4-0
By GARY HENLEY

WARRENTON — It was vin-
tage German George on the mound
Tuesday night at Warrenton, and that
spelled bad news for the Warriors.
Clatskanie’s senior pitcher was on
his game, as he struck out eight bat-
ters and allowed just two hits and two
walks in leading the Tigers to a 4-0
win at Huddleston Field.

standings.
“If anything, (George) looked bet-
ter than I ever remember seeing him
look,” said Warrenton coach Lennie
Wolfe. “His curve ball is really im-
proved. He’s on top of it, and it’s a

improved his game, and he stayed
strong.”
Still, the Tigers led just 2-0
through four innings.

Warrior pitcher Brock Johnson
“threw well most of the time,” Wolfe
said. “He left the ball up in the zone
a few times too many, and paid for it
when he did. That’s a senior-dominat-
ed team (Tigers have 10 seniors on
the roster), and they look like they’ve
been there.”
Johnson went the distance on the
mound for Warrenton, allowing 10

“We hit the ball hard at times, it
just happened to be right at people, or
they’d make a couple of really good
plays,” Wolfe said. “That got them
out of innings with no runs scored.”
