Fishermen best Valiants; Lady Fish fall to Rainier

BEAVERTON — Tied 1-1
through seven innings, Astoria
scored six runs in the top of the
eighth Tuesday night, on its way
to a 7-2 Cowapa League base-
ball win at Valley Catholic.
Astoria improves to 2-0 in
league play to take an early lead
in the league standings, while

picked up career win No. 698.
The Fishermen began the
eighth inning with walks to
Ryan Palek and Carter Wallace,
with Palek scoring the go-ahead
run on an error.
Two hit batters and another
error brought in a second run,
and Astoria’s only hit of the
eighth inning belonged to Bron-
son Holthusen, a two-run dou-
ble that scored Joe Brawley and
Ryker Helmerson.
Valley Catholic outhit Asto-
